With 50 or more employees, or a 231 model, the internal channel is mandatory. It is not a choice.
The case handler must be autonomous and trained: an external lawyer also removes the conflict of interest that arises when an internal manager reads the reports.

No. The whistleblower's identity is visible only to the case handler and can be disclosed only with their express consent in the cases the law provides. The company receives a report on the facts, not on the people.
The lawyer investigates it, informs you with a confidential report and outlines your options. If legal assistance beyond channel management is needed, it is a separate engagement with a written quote.
Yes, at any time, with nothing to reactivate: the channel stays the same, only who handles it changes from the following month.
